Which suits a solo freelancer?

  • One or two clients: Harvest Free does timer to invoice at no cost, within its 2-project limit.
  • More clients, lowest seat price: Clockify Standard adds invoicing at $5.49 per seat/month billed annually.
  • Teams needing approvals, scheduling or GPS: Clockify’s higher tiers list those; Harvest Enterprise lists timesheet approvals and profitability reports.

Harvest’s 2026 move to per-seat plus usage-based pricing is why many long-time users are comparing tools — see our Harvest price increase guide.

A third option: Hourledge

If you work alone and want the timer and the invoice in one place without counting seats or projects, Hourledge does just that: a one-tap timer, invoices built from unbilled time with a PDF and pay link, client report links, CSV export and a Harvest CSV import. Free during early access. One simple flat price later, no per-seat fees.

Hourledge does not do team seats, approvals, expenses, estimates, scheduling or accounting integrations, and has no native apps. More detail: Hourledge vs Harvest, Clockify alternative.
