Harvest price increase 2026: what changed and what to do

Harvest changed how it charges in 2026, and some renewals rose many times over. Here is what changed, what the pricing page says today, and a short checklist before your renewal date.

Last updated October 31, 2026

What changed

  • Harvest was acquired by Bending Spoons in 2025 and changed its pricing structure in 2026 (BBC).
  • Before, businesses generally paid a flat monthly fee per user. Now there is a per-seat price plus a usage cost tied to projects, clients, tasks and invoicing (Subscription Insider).
  • Usage can be paid as Flex (varies with activity) or Unlimited (a fixed usage fee on top of seats). Subscription Insider notes the Unlimited fee is not published on the pricing page.
  • Harvest told the BBC that renewals are announced by email 30 days and 10 days before the renewal date.

Reported increases

These are individual customer reports, not a standard increase; Harvest says the change depends on the account and plan.

  • A UK consultancy’s monthly bill went from about 30 to $2,110, roughly 1,500% (BBC).
  • A US customer reported an annual bill rising from $2,800 to $23,000 (BBC).
  • A small agency on r/projectmanagement was offered a plan at ,900/month after paying at most $80/month (Reddit).
  • On r/HarvestApp, a user reported an inactive account renewing at ,254.98 after a historic rate of 40/year, and said support offered a downgrade to 08/year (Reddit).

Checklist before your renewal

  1. Open your Harvest billing settings and note the renewal date and the quoted amount.
  2. Ask whether a smaller plan fits; if you are one person with two projects, check whether you meet the Free plan’s requirements.
  3. Export everything first: Settings → Import/Export → Export all time (CSV) and Export all invoices (PDF zip).
  4. Turn off auto-renew or cancel in time if you decide to leave, and check your card statement after the renewal date.
  5. Try your replacement with real data before the renewal date, not after.

If you work alone

Hourledge is a flat-price option for freelancers: free during early access, then one simple flat price later with no per-seat fees and no usage charges. It imports the Harvest time CSV directly — see the import guide — and covers the timer, invoices with PDF and client reports. It does not do expenses, estimates or approvals; compare on the Harvest alternative page.
